Hi, my name is Gianni, I’m an aspiring cinematographer and current judge for the South Pacific Film Festival. I have feature film experience working as a 2nd AC, live sports camera operator for the ASB Classic, lighting crew experience for a television series, and numerous short film experience as a gaffer.

Aside from the practical camera side of work, I have competent knowledge within Davinci Resolve, particularly and especially within its colour grading suite. I can effectively and successfully, work and lead a crew to a successful outcome; having worked in numerous local crews and with an international, Italian, crew.

Other Skills & Experience

I am very competent and skilled in camera operating, focus pulling, 2nd AC work. I have operated cameras in live tennis matches, whilst also focus pulling and zooming with each hand for three hour shifts. It was a very demanding and intense task, requiring me to try and "always be perfect." The crew was an overseas company, and they were all Italian workers. Some spoke English whilst a few others had to communicate through Spanish. I have years of experience working as gaffer for numerous short films with different crews. I am a big cinephile and judge for a film festival, my film knowledge is ardent and very expansive. One of my biggest skills, if not my most potent, is my ability to think of a particular shot/sequence from a movie, remember how it was achieved, and be able to replicate it on set. This ability has allowed me to work as a gaffer under intense pressure, quickly, without costing the team 'quantity over quality.'
