Kia ora, I’m Rosette and I am a 25 year old clothing designer maker. I trained at both Massey university in Wellington and Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin (2016-2019). Graduating with a bachelor of Fashion design with first class honors. I was also awarded top graduate collection for my graduate collection which was also chosen to be a finalist for the iD internationalist emerging designer awards in Dunedin (2019) I was awarded most commercial collection award and showcased at NZ fashion week 2019. Since graduating I have been on and off running my own small business ‘Karaoke Superstars’ – selling both online and instore at Bizarre Bazaar in Wellington. I have a very strong and easily devote many hours to any work in the creative industries. I am currently living in Raglan where I spend a lot of time outdoors in my spare time. Currently I am mostly working on commission pieces ( wedding dresses ) as well as stock to send away but am really really wanting to get into costume as I think I have a huge amount of skills that can cross over into the industry.

Industry Experience

As I come from a design background I have little experience in film so far but would say I am more than equip with my skill set. I will list the small amount of experience I think is relevant

2016-2021- working backstage at iD international emerging designer fashion shows as a dresser. Also taking part in the show in 2019 as a designer as well as a NZ fashion week show.

OUSA CAPPING SHOW WARDROBE MANAGER MARCH 2021 - MAY 2021
KEY DUTIES - University of Otago
- Organise creating/making and/or obtaining all the costumes for the OUSA Capping Show as requested by the Director
- Ensuring that the costumes are of a suitable standard for a high quality dramatic production
- Liaison with local theatre wardrobes
- Ensuring that the deadlines are met, without exception

This role was a three month contract which saw me be in charge of the wardrobe and costuming for the the Universities annual capping show which is their biggest production of the year. I produced over 50 costumes for this show within a budget of $800.

AMBER BEATON / DIRECTORS ASSISTANT (music video) FEB 2021
KEY DUTIES
- Assisting on set with lighting and filming
- Running errands for the director and artist
- Ensuring set was set up correctly for each take
- Transporting props between locations
- Making sure extras were being fed / hydrated
- Small acting part in one video
This role gave me the opportunity to work with an up and coming new zealand artist as the directors assistant working on set while filming three music videos over two and a half days. As we had a very tight schedule it was important to stay very organised and always think ahead. I learned a lot about the creative process combining music, acting, dancing, styling, lighting and production.
